Idea to Proposal

Welcome back,

Guys in my last post we have discussed on a topic Community development and how we can make an impact.

Today we are going to discuss on the journey of an idea for community development to the proposal. Having an idea for community development is not enough to do something for community. That idea is required to be presented in front of the members of community for its development.

Today we discuss on how to draft our project or initiative proposal. In last post we have discussed

How we can identify the problem?
How to obtain solution to that problem?
With whom to act?
and
Where to address the proposal?

Once you find out the above questions. You have to draft a proposal about your idea or project addressed to suitable identified person or authority.

In the project background be sure to explain why the project is important and how it is beneficial for all.

The next step would be to draft your objective. What do you want to achieve? Try to be concise, clear and direct. The project objective should be smart:

  1. Specific
  2. Measurable
  3. Achievable
  4. Relevant
  5. Time-Bound
Another question you have to think about is the impact you want to Achieve. How will you target group benefit from your project. What is the expected impact of your project, Local, National, Continental or Global. What changes will it bring?

Another important aspect to think about is How will you make the results of your project visible. Consider all the possibilities available to promote your project. Your website, Social media channels, and so on.

Check the possibilities of contacting traditional media, Newspapers, Radio, Television stations. Also look for representatives from the civil sectors or relevant stake holders. Inform them about your projects.

There are millions of ways to spread your project but try to find ones that will be helpful for us and inspire them to take action.

The story will not finish with opening of your center. Further you have to think on how to make it financially sustainable. and how to develop different programs in it.

Last but not the least, Draft a budget, which should be realistic. What kind of equipment and facilities you need  for your idea come true.

Now it's time to start drafting your project proposal. Don't forget to include the following elements:

  1. Description of the problem
  2. Possible Solution, Objectives and Outcomes
  3. Impact
  4. Dissemination
  5. Sustainability
  6. Budget
Still submitting the proposal is not the end, May be you have to advocate and prove your idea to get approved.

Tell me how can we do it more effectively.
If you have an idea please do share...

Personal Development

Welcome back, Guys in my last post we have discussed about Youth empowerment.   Today we are going to discuss about Personal development in detail. Here you have to answer yourself two questions: What are your values? What do you love doing? Did you ever think about which values are important to you and guiding principles in your life. Which values are less important to you? It is very common to hear from career experts that you should define your values first, before deciding your career. This sounds pretty easy but you cannot define your values before knowing what they are. Different peoples have different values and these values often determine the things that they do and love. Values strongly had believes that you might not know you have. Our Family Our Friends Our Community Our Experience These all contribute towards our values. Who we are? and How we see the world? We often tends to think that our believes are based on our realit

Building and Articulating Career Path

Welcome Back, In last post we discussed on how can we discover our professional self . But discovering yourself on social, general and professional aspects is not all you need to have. When you leave your institution and go out looking for a job and finding your career you will find the term C.V. quite a lot. sadly some institutions are so focused on your academic performance that they forget to prepare you for the big wide world of work. Many students are unaware of how to write a good C.V. A good C.V. reflects the soul of your past experiences. You might have experience in different field which are important to you. Remember don't use same C.V. for different job opportunities. Rather try to elaborate only those parts of your experiences which are relevant to the job you are applying for. You can search for the details of job on their websites, twitter accounts, etc. Study the job requirement and prepare your C.V. accordingly. Your C.V. should be tr

Community Development

Welcome Back, In my last posts we have discussed about our personal and professional development. But this is not sufficient to be successful in your career. In addition we should be aware of community development. Today we discuss about what is community development and how can we make an impact? Now, when you are aware of what personal values are and how you can do self development. Let's move on to the world around you. Think on about the people around you. Such as your neighbors, friends, Old people playing chess in garden, and so many. What you can do for them? What you can do for your Community?  What do we understand by the term community? There are many definitions of term community in various different dictionaries. In general the term community is defined as "A group of people that live in the same area but are also united because of the same interest, religion or may be any other social feature". The next question we would l
