Making Decisions

Welcome Back,

Guys in my last post we have discussed about Exploring your career options.

Today we will discuss about making decision and moving on with that decision. Once you are aware of your options that are available for your career you must make your decision on what is best for you to select as this decision will drive your whole life.

In my last post I have mentioned about choosing career in field which is are new and innovative if possible. This is not possible for all of you to select a career in such field as it might be possible that you are not having interest in things which are new or innovative or might be possible that you are unaware of things at those early stages.

Last night after publishing my last post I had a talk with my sister who categorize my above mentioned sentence as debatable and suggested me to make my opinion very clear to all of you.

So I suggest you not to look for new and innovative things but you just go for what you are interested in and if it is new or innovative then it will be best. but if you keep on searching for new and innovative thing then you find it difficult to have something for your career or may become time consuming, so don't get misguided and focus on your interest. Rest come to you in way.

Now I think, I have made myself very clear about my debatable point. so moving on......

You have all the options for your career, selecting an option which is best one for you is most important. This best varies from person to person. That is among the options may be one option X is best for person A and option Y is best for person B. So you have to choose it carefully.

There are some points to remember while choosing your career.

1. Passion: This we have already discussed that you must have a career in a field of interest.

2. Skills: It is common sense to Choose a career that matches your skill, because you will likely face situations where you enjoy a certain aspect of a career but you don't have the right skill and without necessary skills, you will might struggle and fail in career. If you are not effective at high level, you are replaceable. For example "if you enjoy the idea of making commissions as a salesperson but you lack communication skills, you won't be able to effectively highlight why a client should invest money into what you're selling. If you can't close sales, you won't earn a commission and you're ultimately a liability to the company". Currently if you don't have the skills for the career you're interested in, achieve them, whether through higher education, training programs or identifying strategies to develop them in everyday situations or select a career for which you have the skill set currently.

3. Lifestyle: Different lifestyles ask for different specific careers. At home with your family every day is important for you, a career that  requires you to work overtime frequently might create problems and leads your family life unhappy. Don't try to convince yourself. Think about it. If your career tries to effect your lifestyle negatively,  that is exceptionally important to you, that is not  something you can easily adjust to and it can ultimately affect your performance at work.

4. Market Trends: It's difficult to experience success in the career if that career lack demand in the market, it leads to very little growth. You can opt for these types of careers, but be aware that the chances of your success will be affected by fewer opportunities and little success.

Keeping these four things in mind to select a proper, correct and suitable career option, and now when you know your career its time to move on without wasting your time.

Keep in mind that you have to choose single career and set goals in that career and achieve those goals by working hard, in my opinion don't go for more options as many do so to have flexibility in future aspects. But this leads to decrement in your performance to achieve your goals. There is a saying in Hindi that

"दो कश्तियों में सवार व्यक्ति हमेशा डूबता है"

"One person travelling on two boats always sinks"

Finally after correctly choosing your career you are ready to move on in my next post I will discuss on Youth Empowerment.

Tell me about more ideas in the market or on your mind in the comments. Your ideas may help others in choosing their career.

Personal Development

Welcome back, Guys in my last post we have discussed about Youth empowerment.   Today we are going to discuss about Personal development in detail. Here you have to answer yourself two questions: What are your values? What do you love doing? Did you ever think about which values are important to you and guiding principles in your life. Which values are less important to you? It is very common to hear from career experts that you should define your values first, before deciding your career. This sounds pretty easy but you cannot define your values before knowing what they are. Different peoples have different values and these values often determine the things that they do and love. Values strongly had believes that you might not know you have. Our Family Our Friends Our Community Our Experience These all contribute towards our values. Who we are? and How we see the world? We often tends to think that our believes are based on our realit

Building and Articulating Career Path

Welcome Back, In last post we discussed on how can we discover our professional self . But discovering yourself on social, general and professional aspects is not all you need to have. When you leave your institution and go out looking for a job and finding your career you will find the term C.V. quite a lot. sadly some institutions are so focused on your academic performance that they forget to prepare you for the big wide world of work. Many students are unaware of how to write a good C.V. A good C.V. reflects the soul of your past experiences. You might have experience in different field which are important to you. Remember don't use same C.V. for different job opportunities. Rather try to elaborate only those parts of your experiences which are relevant to the job you are applying for. You can search for the details of job on their websites, twitter accounts, etc. Study the job requirement and prepare your C.V. accordingly. Your C.V. should be tr

Community Development

Welcome Back, In my last posts we have discussed about our personal and professional development. But this is not sufficient to be successful in your career. In addition we should be aware of community development. Today we discuss about what is community development and how can we make an impact? Now, when you are aware of what personal values are and how you can do self development. Let's move on to the world around you. Think on about the people around you. Such as your neighbors, friends, Old people playing chess in garden, and so many. What you can do for them? What you can do for your Community?  What do we understand by the term community? There are many definitions of term community in various different dictionaries. In general the term community is defined as "A group of people that live in the same area but are also united because of the same interest, religion or may be any other social feature". The next question we would l
