Building and Articulating Career Path

Welcome Back,

In last post we discussed on how can we discover our professional self.

But discovering yourself on social, general and professional aspects is not all you need to have.

When you leave your institution and go out looking for a job and finding your career you will find the term C.V. quite a lot. sadly some institutions are so focused on your academic performance that they forget to prepare you for the big wide world of work.

Many students are unaware of how to write a good C.V. A good C.V. reflects the soul of your past experiences. You might have experience in different field which are important to you.

Remember don't use same C.V. for different job opportunities. Rather try to elaborate only those parts of your experiences which are relevant to the job you are applying for.

You can search for the details of job on their websites, twitter accounts, etc. Study the job requirement and prepare your C.V. accordingly.

Your C.V. should be true, not the fake one; your qualifications and your experiences must be valid. Elaborate the respective experience with reference to the job in detail. Keep other experiences to the point.

Don't make your C.V. too long or too short either.

For further details on skills of writing C.V. you can visit HERE

The effective C.V. does half of your work. Study the picture below:

You must be aware of more things similar to your C.V. that is Your Resume, Your Bio data, etc. These are the things which people generally mix up due to lack of knowledge.

1. RESUME
Resume is a French word meaning "summary". A resume is ideally a summary of one's education, skills and employment when applying for a new job. A resume does not list out all details of a profile, but only some specific skills customized to the target job profile. It thus, is usually 1 or at the max 2 pages long. A resume is usually written in the third person to give it an objective and formal tone.

2. CURRICULUM VITAE
Curriculum Vitae is a Latin word meaning "course of life". It is more detailed than a resume, generally 2 to 3 pages, or even longer as per the requirement. A C.V. lists out every skill, all the jobs and positions held, degrees, professional affiliations the applicant has acquired, and in chronological order. A C.V. is used to highlight the general talent of the candidate rather than specific skills for a specific position.

3. BIO-DATA
Bio Data is the short form for Biographical Data and is an archaic terminology for Resume or C.V. In a bio data, the focus is on personal particulars like date of birth, gender, religion, race, nationality, residence, marital status, etc. A chronological listing of education and experience comes after that.

One must be aware of the differences before using them. You can google it up to find more details on differences between them, How to write them effectively and where to use them.

Write your C.V., Resume and bio-data today. Remember to update C.V. and resume regularly.

Personal Development

Welcome back, Guys in my last post we have discussed about Youth empowerment.   Today we are going to discuss about Personal development in detail. Here you have to answer yourself two questions: What are your values? What do you love doing? Did you ever think about which values are important to you and guiding principles in your life. Which values are less important to you? It is very common to hear from career experts that you should define your values first, before deciding your career. This sounds pretty easy but you cannot define your values before knowing what they are. Different peoples have different values and these values often determine the things that they do and love. Values strongly had believes that you might not know you have. Our Family Our Friends Our Community Our Experience These all contribute towards our values. Who we are? and How we see the world? We often tends to think that our believes are based on our realit

In addition we should be aware of community development. Today we discuss about what is community development and how can we make an impact? Now, when you are aware of what personal values are and how you can do self development. Let's move on to the world around you. Think on about the people around you. Such as your neighbors, friends, Old people playing chess in garden, and so many. What you can do for them? What you can do for your Community?  What do we understand by the term community? There are many definitions of term community in various different dictionaries. In general the term community is defined as "A group of people that live in the same area but are also united because of the same interest, religion or may be any other social feature". The next question we would l
